It can be difficult to try and promote a small business if you have not first created an internet marketing plan. Internet marketing is a lot more demanding and complicated, than just putting some keywords in the content of your site. An internet marketing plan comprises of eight fundamental steps: Planning strategically, Comprehending the situation, Analyzing the customer, Focusing on the Product and the Market, Positioning your product, How to price, Distributing the Product and Promoting on the Internet.

Step Number 1: Strategic Planning…. A few things should be kept in mind in the process of online campaigning for your business. You must ask yourself what you are good at. You can find out the advantages your business has over your competitors, by ascertaining the ways your business is better than them.

Second Step: Understanding the situation… The intention of doing this is to gain an insight into your market. Step Number 3: Customer Analysis…. In simple terms, this step requires you to learn about your customers. In fact, some businesses do invent personalities that act as the target customer and develop a plan of marketing to them.

Fourth Step: Concentrating on the Market and Product… Segmenting your market and building your company to be a notch above the others, is what this step is about. Many a times this is referred to as “USP” or “Unique Selling Point”.

Fifth Step: Product alignment. Basically, there are evident thoughts that come to mind, when an individual listens to a company name. What thoughts would you want an individual to have when someone says the name of your company? You must give this a thought. You need to know how to position your business in your customer’s mind. Get yourself familiar with the four Ps of marketing if you haven’t learned about them until now; product, position, promotion and price.

Phase Six: Pricing Plan… This is one of the four Ps of marketing too. You have to be familiar with how to successfully decide the cost of your goods or services. Finding out how much your competitor is charging is a good technique. It will be required that you offer challenging prices if you are new to the business.

Phase Seven: Product Allocation…. This is the second P in the 4 P’s of marketing, also known as position. It is the corporeal spot where your product or service is present. And of course, if your business is on the internet, your position is also the internet.

Step Number 8: Internet Promotion. This is how you are going to advertise your business on the internet, Michael Cheney’s method as mentionned in Delta Squadron is very effective. There are numerous advertising methods made available in ample, such as, search engines, newsletters, pay per click advertising and article marketing. Find out the most suitable method for your business by conducting tests using each method.
